MISSING THE, ER, POINT

Charles Colson on cultural content at the Academy Awards:
Oh, and then there’s the nasty little film called Sideways. This film suggests that it’s fine—even funny—for a man to engage in an orgy of sex with strangers just before his wedding. That got an award, too.
I happen to like Colson's Watergate memoir "Born Again", but I'm glad he's not a movie critic.

Some thoughtful points, though, in Gina Dalfonzo's article attacking the mainstream reviewing biz:

A colleague who has attended several press screenings of recent films tells me that the Christian critics are gaining a reputation as the ones asking all the serious questions about the movies—as opposed to the secular critics, most of whom spend their time asking which actress is currently dating which actor.
