TWO HITS

Monty Python in French??? Yes, it really does work. If you're a Python fan, do your best to catch the magnificently weird staging of classic sketches at London's Riverside Studios. First seen in Paris, the surtitled show puts a Gallic spin on such gems as the Four Yorkshiremen and Self-Defence Against Fresh Fruit. I loved it.

Good to discover that Sideways lives up to all the hype. I was worried that it would turn out to be another Huckabees-style existential dud. Not at all. And Rolfe Kent's score must be the neatest jazz soundtrack since Bill Lee lit up She's Gotta Have It.
