HUMPHREY CARPENTER, R.I.P.

Prolific writer and broadcaster, Humphrey Carpenter has died at the ridiculously young age of 58. He'd been suffering from Parkinson's Disease for some time. My wife produced a radio documentary with him just a few weeks ago, and was amazed at his energy and enthusiasm for everything under the sun.

The Telegraph and Guardian both run obituaries today.
