WHAT KIND OF PERSON ARE YOU?

I've only just caught up with Terry Teachout's Cultural Concurrence Index. (Make sure you read the introduction afterwards.) Great fun, and educational too. I take Trollope over Dickens, swing over bebop and Chaplin beats Keaton, for me anyway.

Diana Krall v Norah Jones? That's fairly easy too, although I do like NJ. I'm still grappling with Krall's recent plunge into singer-songwriterdom, but that's mainly because I've never been a fan of her new husband and co-writer, Elvis Costello. Watching the new DVD, Live at the Montreal Jazz Festival is helping me find my way into the new material. Something tells me the next album will be the one that delivers the goods.
