Prince Charles is a complacent twerp, but even complacent twerps can occasionally be right.

On the other hand, I detect a hint of Upstairs Downstairs in Quentin Letts' description of Elaine Day as a "typist". I thought she was a PA with a university degree, but perhaps I'm being over-sensitive. I also took offence at the reference to her being a "disappointed 45-year old." I'm 45 and I often feel disappointed. I console myself with the thought that young Letts looks like a self-satisfied 55-year old.
