"The US election felt both lawless and stitched-up. There was a mysterious inability to register voters, especially if they were black. Lobbyists' money covered the proceedings like an oil slick. Florida remained about as charming and incorruptible as Chad....
George Bush's war on terror has killed between 20 and 30 innocent people for every one who died on 9/11, but that can't be said either. It's un-American."
